Jason Owusu-Frimpong is a British-Ghanaian creative writer and self-titled “culturist”, with a background in creative arts, social policy and finance.
He started writing at age 16, documenting style and fashion in writing, alongside a personal Tumblr. His journey start was inspired by the likes of Pharrell’s Skateboy Bape era, Kanye West’s LV days, Kid Cudi and Diddy’s Sean John – all examples of overcoming the past misconceptions of men in fashion and triumphing in the industry. Upon attending his first Fashion Week, after meeting Stella Mccartney and being commended for his “Kanye-esque” style, he knew that this was a community he could contribute to – and has been covering shows for blogs and sites ever since. Jason has previously worked on personal projects with Donda (Kanye West) graphic designers, and documented artists like Yxng Bane, designer Ikire Jones (Marvel/Black Panther Oscar winning design team), Tinie Tempah’s What We Wear and most recently Alexander Mcqueen Menswear.
